Elizabeth Connell Prize for Aspiring Dramatic Sopranos

It was the wish of the late South African soprano, Elizabeth Connell to create a scholarship in her name to assist aspiring dramatic sopranos. The competition is funded though a legacy left by Ms Connell which is administered by trustees and the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Foundation.

Elizabeth Connell Prize: $20,000 and an audition at the
Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London.
2016 Winner – KSENIIA MUSLANOVA from the Russian Federation

2nd Prize: $6,000 – LEAH GORDON from Canada
3rd Prize: $5,000 – YASMINE LEVI-ELLENTUCK from Israel
Finalist Prizes: $3,000 – ANNA-LOUISE COLE & MARI WYN WILLIAMS
